Silk - Music for the Senses : Sunday, 18 June 06


On Sunday, 18 June 06 at 2.00pm, a special concert called "Silk - Music for the Senses" will be held at St Matthews, Manly ... the concert will include the Flower Duet from Lakme, Summer Time and Time to Say Goodbye ... a concert not to be missed!!

All proceeds go towards the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital for Women in Ethopia.

Da Vinci Code : How Do We Seek the Truth

If you want to unravel some of the inaccuracies surrounding the Da Vinci Code, you should not miss these talks & discussion by Dr Greg Clarke and Dr John Dickson ... invite your friends to attend an evening of lectures and discussion on the claims of The Da Vinci Code. Authors and scholars John Dickson and Greg Clarke will explore the spiritual issues raised in the novel and the film.

How do we seek the truth about Christian history? Which of the novel’s claims are worth believing?

Dr Dickson is an Honorary Associate of the Department of Ancient History, Macquarie University, and the author of a dozen books. He is currently Writer-in-Residence for Blue Bottle Books, a position which affords him the freedom to research, write and speak on a fulltime basis.

Dr Clarke is a Visiting Fellow in the School of English at the University of New South Wales, Director of the Centre for Apologetic Scholarship and Education (CASE) at New College, University of NSW and author of Is It Worth Believing? The Spiritual Challenge of the Da Vinci Code.

Eleanor : Accommodation Required

Eleanor from the UK has just moved to Sydney and is looking for a room to let somewhere close to the Manly area. Eleanor would love to hear from you if you have a room going in a flatshare or even if you're just also looking for a flatmate to find a place with together.

Eleanor is a non-smoker, plans to attend St.Matt's and claims to be quite tidy!

She is willing to negotiate on a weekly rent, however, is currently looking for work so reckons she could probably manage approx. $150 per week.

The Proof of Life : EQUIP Women's Conference : Saturday, 27 May 2006



Attention Girls : EQUIP is on this Saturday, 27 May 2006 ... and there are still some late entry tickets available - contact www.equip.org.au and find the phone number for the organisers - give them a call and join us!!! Approximately 15 girls or more are going from St Matts ... we are meeting at 9.00am at the round fountain with different levels in Darling Harbour ... it's going to be a fantastic day!

The annual EQUIP Women's Conference is due to be held on Saturday, 27 May 2006 and a group of girls have already signed up to go to this fantastic conference.

PTC Course Registration : Closes 15 May 2006

URGENT: Anyone who is interested in completing the PTC course: "Introducing the Bible" needs to complete an application form and get it to Cathy Collins by Monday, 15 May 2006 for successful registration. Leisa Aitken will be running the course on Monday nights starting on 5 June 2006.
